Natalie and Katie visiting Lake Samammish in their ssgdm shirts, August 2019.

About Natalie

Natalie is the Marketing, Public Relations, and Social Media Manager for WildBlue Press, an independent publisher that publishes mostly true crime. She is a dog mom to two dachshunds, Shelby and Juno. When Natalie isn't devouring all the true crime she can get her hands on, she likes reading, crocheting, cross stitching, eating snacks, and taking naps with her puppies.

She is married to her other best friend (besides Katie), Shawn. They are the perfect true crime couple since Natalie wants to know the circumstances of the criminal's life and the psychological reasons they committed the crime and Shawn is super into the forensic science evidence and wants to do autopsies for a living. Their little family currently lives in the Chicago area.

About Katie

When she isn’t solving crimes from her couch, Katie enjoys thrifting, reading, crocheting, eating too many carbs, shopping on the internet, and collecting all things vintage. She aspires to be a beauty/fashion icon, (at least to her Instagram followers), and has a vast and ever-growing collection of cute dresses, makeup, and skincare products.

She hopes to one day be a librarian, get a corgi, and own a little cabin on Lake Superior to help her stay connected with her Yooper spirit. She is also hoping that this podcast will be enough to get her and Natalie both casted as actors in Forensic Files re-enactments. Katie calls the gorgeous state of Michigan (specifically the U.P.) “home”, but currently resides in metro Seattle with her long-term partner, Matthew.

About Our Podcast

Natalie and Katie thought it would be fun to record themselves discussing their passion together: all things spoopy and creppy. We are not only best friends, but we are both huge fans of learning about: true crime, cults, conspiracy theories, hauntings, alien sightings, killers, criminals, ghosties, cryptids, death, you get it. Anything spoopy or creppy! All we needed was some inexpensive microphones (seriously, we spent $30 on them), a platform to host the episodes (Anchor), and the drive to make it happen (because mental illness struggles are super real for both of us, which we also discuss). Oh, and listeners, that's you! We couldn't do this without listeners. Actually, we totally could but it wouldn't be as fun if we knew absolutely nobody was listening.

We both aim to discuss the truth (or the closest and most probable version of it) in each episode. We try to load our stories up with a good amount of facts by researching from reliable sources and watching related footage, documentaries, etc. when we can. But hey, we both have day jobs and this is just a side project we do for our own amusement. If we get something totally wrong, tell us so we can make a correction update! But we aren't trying to be actual detectives or provide strictly facts. We are two strong, independent, opinionated women who (usually) aren't afraid to share our opinions with the world (or at least the 40 listeners we have). If you don't agree with us, that's totally cool. If you want to tell us why in a constructive and respectful way, knock yourself out! The "Contact" tab at the top will send us an email.

We would love to cover more of what our listeners want to hear. If you have a case you've been obsessed with, one that happened close to you, in your hometown, or in the next town over, one your mom casually mentioned, or whatever, let us know! We love learning new things, which is ultimately why we do this podcast.
